Need to add a little something special to your dessert? You can’t beat a fruit sauce. It is super easy to make.
I added this Strawberry Sauce on top of my New Your Style Cheesecake Recipe I shared, so I thought I had better give you this recipe also. It is so simple I am not sure if it actually qualifies as a recipe, but here you go none the less.
Strawberry Sauce Recipe
- 1 pint strawberries
- 1/3 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Wash strawberries and cut the tops off. 2) Half or quarter the berries depending on their size. 3) Place the berries, sugar and vanilla in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat. Once the fruit starts to soften mash it up a bit with a potato masher (or a fork). This will release more juice and break up the berries. Continue to cook until the juice has thickened to your desired consistency, about 15 minutes total.
See I told you that was easy. Now pile it on top of a bowl of ice cream or your favorite cake and enjoy!
